Feedback from first Design Review:

1) The motivation is clear but can it be quantified more? How many phone cases are sold in a year, and what fraction of the market can you realistically hope to capture?

Our Answer: This is more of a premium, niche product, on the order of maybe 1000 cases/ year, based on the level of customization we are able to bring to the product and what manufacturing processes we decide are most appropriate for the consumer available designs.

2) Need to justify the project viability and goals. Why use truss structure? Why use 3D printing instead of injection molding? Perhaps there is a need to re-orient the project to either A) a mathematical model and justification of where and how a cellular structure will be an improvement or B) a discovery of different case designs with consideration to how materials choice will affect the protection of the phone.

Our Answer: We are no longer focusing purely on a truss structure. It is possible that we will incorporate that into our case design if we find that it is actually an improvement over other possibilities. For now, our focus is on suggestion B.
