Is there really a need for cases?

Yes! In fact, a June 2014 survey[1] found that 84% of iPhone owners use cases for their phones. In addition, the most commonly used brand of case, at 24% of users, was the Otterbox brand. This is complemented by another poll which found that 23% of iPhone screens are cracked.[2]

With such large percentages of users that would benefit from having a case, as well as existing consumers that use cases, having an affordable, customizable, and durable phone case on the market is more important than ever. In addition, we plan to deviate from the standard formula for making cases by using materials even more soft and flexible than the rubber/plastic polymer used in most cases.

Why is this a viable commercial choice?

- "The protective case segment accounted for 20.5% share in the global mobile phone accessories market in 2014 and is expected to expand 5.9% over the given period (2015-2025)."[3]

-"Given the stiff competition in the mobile phone accessories market, key players are adopting strategies such as geographical expansion, product innovations and new product launches, and mergers and acquisitions to gain a competitive edge"
